Jason Sprenger has 20 years of experience using the entire spectrum of strategic communications to transform organizations. He founded Game Changer Communications in September 2012, and since then he has brought full-service PR/communications services to more than 40 clients from Twin Cities-area nonprofits to international, billion-dollar industry leaders. He specializes in helping small to medium-sized B2B and tech organizations find their voice and accelerate and achieve growth. Additional strengths include comprehensive PR and brand strategy; media relations; social media/digital strategy and execution; executive counsel; and leadership/increasing team efficiency and production. He became Accredited in Public Relations (APR) in 2009 and introduced the Umbrella Model for Public Relations in 2015.


Before Sprenger started his firm, he led North American public relations at FICO and built a PR department from scratch at data storage hardware company X-IO Technologies. Before his time as a corporate practitioner, he worked in three Minnesota PR firms and served clients across the spectrum of industry; his list of former clients includes Target, Coca-Cola, Airstream, Lawson Software, Qwest, the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota Twins, U.S. Trust, Medtronic, the United Health Foundation, etc. 

Sprenger chairs the Marketing Committee at Bolder Options and has been involved with the organization since early 2019. Outside of Bolder Options, he is the 2020 Chair of the Midwest District of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), a role in which he oversees the activities of 13 chapters and more than 2,200 members across eight states. He also served on the Board of the Minnesota Chapter of PRSA for seven years, including one as chapter President. He is a member of the South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) Advisory Board, and formerly served on the Board of Directors of The LEAD Project. He is a part of his church’s capital campaign core leadership team, and he taught public relations as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota. The University of Minnesota’s Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication selected him to receive its 2017 Above the Fold Award, honoring him for “achieving great distinction and prestige before the age of 40.”


Sprenger is a passionate alum of the University of Minnesota, its journalism school, and its marching band. He lives in Apple Valley and enjoys music, playing and watching sports, and spending time with his two sons.
