Marketing & Communications Manager

Agency Description: Bolder Options (bolderoptions.org) is a transformational and wellness-based mentoring program for at-promise youth ages 10-14 in Rochester and the Twin Cities. Our mission is "Teaching youth to succeed in all of life's races." Mentor pairs (adult and youth) meet every week for one year working towards physical health, academic success, and social/emotional health goals. Last year, 100% of graduating pairs elected to continue their relationship post-graduation, and 90% of youth planned to go to college after high school. Our goal is to ensure that the promise of youth in our community is realized, regardless of their life circumstances.

Salary: $53,000 - $61,000 Per Year - Full Time

Department: Supports all Bolder Options departments and locations

Reports to: Direct report to Chief Operating Officer; accountabilities to other department leads.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Generalist role that manages overall public relations and marketing strategy and direction including objective-setting, measurement, and monitoring for all organization communications (including social media).

  • Public Relations: work with staff team and stakeholders to promote and amplify Bolder Options’ mission to the broader community. Provide project management for a brand review and refresh.

  • Marketing: support staff teams with communications strategies to attract organizational resources and drive attendance for organizational events.

  • Develop an editorial calendar for all PR & marketing communications.

  • Collaborate with the staff team and other stakeholders to generate compelling digital and print content for communications that support the organization's mission and priorities. Information packets, annual reports, board reports,

  • Social Media: Ensure a strong presence on social media channels that aligns with and amplifies the overall mission and priorities of the organization. Plan the social media calendar and manage day-to-day maintenance of social media activity across all channels.

  • Manage and maintain Bolder Options’ website.

  • Create and capture marketing content (photo and video).

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant marketing/communications experience

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Wix, Google Workspace.
