A Bold Challenge doesn’t have to be an ultra-marathon—here are ideas to inspire you:

  • Running the Twin Cities Marathon.

  • Doing 20 minutes of yoga every day for 100 days straight.

  • Walking 10,000 steps daily for a month.

  • Committing to reading throughout the year.

  • An outdoor adventure challenging route or exploring a local trail network.

  • Learning to play a song on an instrument and performing it live or online.

  • Creating a piece of art every day for 30 days.

  • Taking on a Buy Nothing Challenge by avoiding non-essential purchases for a month.

  • Recruiting new mentors for Bolder Options as your personal challenge.

The possibilities are endless, and we’re here to help you make your challenge a reality!

This April of 2025, Bolder Options' Development Director took on the Atacama Crossing, a grueling 155-mile ultramarathon through Chile’s Atacama Desert—the driest desert on Earth. Through this challenge, he aims to raise fund to support Bolder Options’ mission of empowering youth through mentorship and physical activity. Read the blog post about Ryan's inspiring run of the Atacama Crossing.

Sawyer Foss, a college student at the International College of Liberal Arts in Kofu, Japan, is planning to attempt a self-designed 75-mile ultramarathon, running from his school to Shinjuku Station in Tokyo within a single day!

The BOLD Run was a remarkable 193.21-mile journey across Minnesota, undertaken by Ryan Foss, Bolder Options' Donor Relations Director, to mark his 50th birthday. His goal was to raise $20,000, recruit mentors, and increase awareness for Bolder Options' Youth Mentoring Program. Along the way, he ran through diverse landscapes, dodged dogs, and braved blistered feet, ultimately raising $23,000 in support of Bolder Options' mission.
