JAFET CAY BONILLA

Case Coordinator

Jafet was born and raised in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. Enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably for 3 years. After his discharge, he moved back to Puerto Rico to pursue further education at the Universidad del Turabo where he enrolled in the Psychology program. On November 8 of 2017, after the island was devastated by Hurricane Maria, he decided to move to the United States seeking better opportunities. He enjoys music, spending time with his family, and trying new things. His love to help to get the best out of people and motivation to face new challenges drove him to expand his horizons while serving youth in the Twin Cities. As the Case Coordinator, he encourages and supports youth and mentors to maintain a healthy mentoring relationship and to engage in Bolder Options programming. He also monitors many aspects of the mentoring relationship pairs like communication, program progress, academic support, etc., and provides resources accordingly.
