Position Title: Mentoring Program Coordinator - Rochester (PT)

Type of Employment: Half-time (20 hours per week), hourly position.

Salary: $20.00 - $24.00 Per Hour

Agency Description: Bolder Options is a transformational and wellness-based mentoring program for at-promise youth ages 10-14 in Rochester and the Twin Cities. Our mission is "Teaching youth to succeed in all of life's races." Mentor pairs (adult and youth) meet every week for one year working towards physical health, academic success, and social/emotional health goals. Last year, 100% of graduating pairs elected to continue their relationship post-graduation, and 90% of youth planned to attend college after high school. Our goal is to ensure that the promise of youth in our community is realized, regardless of their life circumstances.

Reports to: The Program Coordinator is directly supervised by the Rochester Program Director and is a Bolder Options Program Department member.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support and Monitor Mentoring Pairs

  • Provide quality support and monitoring for a full caseload of active mentoring pairs

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation via the agency’s database

  • Track progress toward pillars and guide pairs toward successful graduation from the program

  • Nurture relationships with all active stakeholders (youth providers, caregivers, mentors, and youth)

  • Provide and advocate for resources and referrals to families as needed

  • Maintain consistent communication with the mentor, youth, and caregiver throughout the year-long match, and provide additional support as needed

  • Support the entire youth-mentor match process including processing youth referrals, managing the intake process, and leading match meetings with the mentor and caregiver

Plan and Support Program Events & Activities

  • Staff and support at least 2 group activities a month

  • Support activities coordinator as needed

  • Contribute to the planning of events and activities

 

Other Agency-Related Responsibilities:

  • Meetings with the Rochester staff

  • Support mentor recruitment efforts in a variety of ways including staffing and supporting quarterly recruitment events

  • Assist with fundraising events, including the Rochester Tailgate event

  • Work with the Program Department in the implementation of strategic goals and direction for the agency

  • Participate in community committees and groups as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Background or expertise with youth work, particularly with high-risk populations and/or adolescents; knowledge of mentoring a plus

  • Significant experience in case management

  • Flexible schedule - need to be available to pairs and caregivers at a variety of times; attendance is required at evening and weekend events and activities

  • Computer skills and experience with Google Workspace, The Databank, or other database management software

  • Must own a safe vehicle and have a clean driving record
