JALLAH AKOIWALA
Mentoring Program Coordinator, Rochester
Over the last five years, I have committed myself to working with young people and families. I have crisscrossed between stints as a family advocate with Lake & Prairie Community Action Partnership, to being a juvenile detention worker with Clay County, and then as a professional mentor with Friends of the Children.
I am passionate about building person-centered relationships with youth and meeting them where they are at. If it entails, seeing youth have fun while helping them to fulfill their true potential, I am always available with 100% commitment.
I follow the NBA religiously and pride myself as a Los Angeles Clippers fan; I also take time to watch soccer games and is classified by friends as a fair-weather Arsenal fan.
I believe my ability to work with diverse populations and my experience working within multi-disciplinary team settings will translate seamlessly to Bolder Options.
